About Our Founder, Victor R. Solis

Victor R. Solis is a producer of award-winning film projects and an instructor who has privately tutored students since 2007. In 2010, he created a non-profit pilot program and trained a group of tutors to teach free SAT prep to the students of King Drew Medical Magnet High School in Compton.

Since 2003, Victor has guided students from 6th grade to the college level, including those with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder, auditory processing disorder, and ADHD. Through the Redondo Beach Unified School District, he has worked as a special education and adapted physical education aide.

In 2008, he completed tutor training at El Camino College as part of official certification by the National Tutoring Association. Drawing on his management experience in the film industry and human resources, he has developed training seminars for local tutoring companies.

Since 2009, Victor has specialized in SAT and ACT test prep and created Initia’s effective, easy-to-learn test prep curriculum. He studied English at UCLA where he was a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta honor society, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Bruin Marching Band. Victor grew up in Torrance, California and enjoys bicycling, writing fiction, cooking, and playing bass guitar.

About Our Tutors

All our tutors are college graduates from competitive American universities including Stanford, UCLA, and UC Irvine. As academic guides and role models, we strive to inspire students, motivate them, and teach them how to become lifelong learners.

We use a team approach to helping students by keeping in close communication with parents. We also keep updated about the latest developments in education, testing, and tutoring through our professional advisers who are experienced educators.
